Lust: A touchy topic for women.
Praise God that we have a Savior. Thank you, Lord, that you sent your son Christ Jesus into this world to die for our wicked, selfish, evil, vile sin that we may be made pure and clean in your sight. That we may be made as white as snow, as clear as water. Praise God that though we naturally are against him in our sin, He loves us enough to suffer a miserably death that we may be forgiven. Removing every mark, every scuff, all iniquity that we have brought upon ourselves. Do not take this with a grain of salt, for it is of first importance.
I know it is painful knowing that your lust is so wrong in Gods eyes yet so hard to overcome in the flesh. I know you feel like a slave to your mind, your body and your desire. It is a chain around your neck, the anvil that brings you down. It creeps close behind and is always on your mind. It is your sin nature at work. You try to justify it, understand it, make it seem “okay” all while knowing no matter what, in the end, it is sin and you are acting against the person of Christ by submitting to it.
Overcome it.
I know it’s hard to talk about. I know it’s embarrassing to discuss. I know you feel like you are the only one that suffers but you are not, I promise I can attest to that. But I urge you to find somebody to trust and lean on. Somebody who can help encourage and guide you. To help you persevere and press on. It’s not going to always be easy and it wont just magically go away. But help is never bad. There aren’t many times I would advise a Christian to go to another person for help when struggling with sin, mainly because it is always between you and God alone and you must get right with God and God alone. But this is a sin where you not only go against God, you bring another person in between you and God. You actually selfishly reach out to another being to help in your endeavor. You are not only turning away from the face of God to divulge in your own satisfaction, you are seeking others to fulfill you.
Seek the Lord.
Praise God that we have been forgiven through our Savior Jesus Christ. I urge you to press and push into Christ. Pray for forgiveness. Come before Him in repentance. Seek His face. Become a woman after His own heart. Turn away from your darkness, rebuke it from your life. Ignite your heart with desire for the person of Jesus Christ, not for the lust inside of you. Cast down the darkness around you, throw it away and run after Christ. It is through His blood alone that we have been saved by grace in faith. Praise Him and rebuke all opposition. Press. Press. Press.
Do not become a weak slave to sin. Become a strong woman of God that causes darkness to shutter.
In Christ, Olivia Faith.
